Ingredients
Large cabbage (I have used ¾ white and ¼ red but eventually it bleeds)– slice in processor
2 cucumber sliced or chopped by hand
3 carrots shredded in processor
*1 large burmuda (red) onion
2 peppers sliced by hand — I use one red and one green
¾ cup sugar
¾ cup white vinegar
3 Tble and 1 tea oil (I use canola)
1 ½ Tble salt
1 ½ Tble water
*4 cloves minced garlic
- You can prepare dry ingredients one day and mix with liquids the next day. Flavors get stronger the longer it sits
- ** Whenever using red onions or garlic I always rinse under water before adding to a recipe. I rinse it after it is minced or chopped. This extra step prevents the sharp bite that you can get when you use alliums.
